Bambaw kindly sent me a few of their products to try and share my thoughts with you, including their reusable sanitary pad.
As always, I aim to give an honest and fair review based on real use. Everything here reflects my own experience, so you can decide if it right for you.
My Honest Review After 4 Years
I have been using these pads for over 4 years now, and they have become my number one go-to menstrual product. In fact, I am now looking to purchase a second set.
Over the years, I have tried several Bambaw products, and they have become my go-to brands for sustainable swaps. See my review below:

Most people will use thousands of pads in their lifetime, which adds up to a huge amount of waste. Reusable pads offer a much more sustainable alternative.
In this review, I share my long-term experience with Bambaw reusable sanitary pads, focusing on comfort, practicality, and how they perform in everyday use.
About Bambaw Eco Friendly Reusable Sanitary Pads
Designed with both comfort and effectiveness in mind, these pads come in three different sizes catering to light, medium, and heavy flow.
Each pad has three layers: bamboo charcoal for effective odor control, microfiber for superior absorption, and a waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate) layer for maximum security. Furthermore, the pads are equipped with snap-on wings, ensuring they stay securely in place during daily activities.
Additionally, these pads come with a special waterproof pouch that has two sections. It’s important to note that this pouch can only hold up to four small to medium-sized pads. Unfortunately, the heavy flow pad cannot fit inside the bag.
Assessing the Absorbency: How Well Does it Perform?
After using the Bambaw reusable pads for over four years, I can confidently say they have held up really well over time.
I conducted an experiment to compare the absorbency of the medium-flow reusable pad with that of a medium-flow disposable pad. The results left me pleasantly surprised by just how well the reusable pad outperformed its disposable counterpart.
Bambaw medium reusable pad absorbs 70ml of water, whereas the disposable pad of the same size absorbs 45ml. This means that the reusable pad is almost twice as good at absorbing liquid compared to the disposable one.
Gentle on the Skin
The microfiber material used in the Bambaw reusable pad is exceptionally gentle on the skin. Unlike disposable pads that can cause rubbing and irritation, leading me to avoid certain brands for a more comfortable period, the Bambaw sanitary pads have proven to be incredibly kind to my skin.
They have reduced discomfort or chafing, making my menstrual experience more soothing and enjoyable.
Comfort and Fit
Thanks to the snap-on wings, these pads stay in place, offering a comfortable and secure fit. You can move around without any worries about the pad shifting or causing discomfort.
However, the Bambaw reusable pad is a bit thicker than disposable pads. While this extra thickness may take some getting used to, it provides better absorbency and protection.
It’s important to consider your personal preferences and comfort levels when deciding if the thickness is right for you.
Lasting Durability: Standing the Test of Time
One of the best things about reusable sanitary pads is how durable they are. After more than four years of regular use, mine still look almost as good as new.
Even after four years of use, the pads look no different from how it did after the first few washes.
Also, the dark color of the pad does a great job of hiding any stains, keeping things looking clean and discreet.
Cost-effectiveness and Environmental Impact: Making a Wise Investment
At first glance, the mixed pack of Bambaw sanitary pads may seem pricier compared to the disposable pads I used to buy. However, it’s important to consider the long-term benefits and cost-effectiveness.
The Bambaw pads are a one-time purchase, meaning you won’t have to constantly spend money on disposable pads every month. This makes the reusable pads a more economical choice in the long run.
Moreover, it’s crucial to acknowledge the environmental consequences of disposable pads. Every single disposable pad we throw away ends up in landfills, where it takes thousands of years to decompose.
By using reusable pads like Bambaw, you can significantly reduce the amount of waste generated during our periods. It’s a small but impactful step towards a more sustainable future. Ultimately, choosing reusable pads not only saves money but also helps minimize the environmental impact of period waste.
Chemical-Free Comfort: Avoiding Disposable Pad Worries
It’s essential to be aware of the chemicals that may be present in disposable pads. Some of these pads are bleached with chlorine, which can create harmful chemicals called dioxins.
These dioxins have been associated with health issues, including hormone disruption and cancer risks. Disposable pads can also contain artificial fragrances, adhesives, and absorbent materials that might cause irritation or allergies.
By choosing reusable pads like Bambaw, you can enjoy comfort without worrying about exposing your body to harmful chemicals.
