Eco Warrior Shampoo Bar vs Conventional Shampoo

Shampoo bars are solid, eco-friendly, and made with natural ingredients for healthy hair. It is a more sustainable option for those looking to reduce their environmental impact.

On the other hand, conventional shampoos in plastic bottles are often formulated with a broader range of chemicals and synthetic ingredients and generate a significant amount of plastic waste.

By choosing to use low waste products and avoiding unnecessary plastics use, you are taking a step towards a more sustainable lifestyle and reducing your environmental impact.

Why I Love the Eco-Warrior Shampoo Bar

When choosing a good shampoo, I focus on three critical criteria: lather, cleanliness, and how moisturising it is.

Using a solid bar is simple, just rub the wet soap directly on your wet hair. One thing to remember when using eco-friendly shampoo bars is that they often require a double wash. This means washing your hair twice, the first to remove oils and the second to cleanse away dirt.

I found that the bar lathers well in the second wash, as shown in the picture of me using it. After using it, my hair and scalp felt clean and refreshed. However, I recommend using a conditioner afterward as the bar can be a bit drying.

How to Store Shampoo Bar?

The best way to store a solid bar is in a dry and airy place, away from direct moisture. This will prevent the bar from melting or becoming mushy, ensuring it lasts longer. Some options for storing shampoo bars include:

  1. Bar holder or dish: A holder or dish with good drainage can keep the bar elevated and allow it to dry completely between uses.
  2. Soap saver bag: A soap-saver bag made of natural fibers like cotton or hemp can keep the bar dry and prevent it from slipping away while in use.
  3. Dry and ventilated location: Store the shampoo bar in a dry, ventilated area where air can circulate freely, such as a bathroom shelf or soap dish.

Are they worth it?

Although they can be a bit drying and not as moisturising as conventional shampoos, I still choose to use them over the ones in plastic bottles.

A little bit of conditioner and hair oil helps with the dryness, but what I love about shampoo bars is how fresh, and clean my hair and scalp feel afterward.

Despite the slight downsides, the benefits of using shampoo bars make it worth it and I don’t plan on returning to using traditional shampoos anytime soon!

Wrapping Up

The shampoo bar is an excellent choice for those looking for a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional shampoos in plastic bottles.

They are not only good for the environment but also for your hair and scalp. While it may require a bit of extra conditioning, the benefits of using this plastic-free solid bar make it well worth the switch.

So why not make the switch today and become an eco-warrior yourself!
