Reasons We Love Superscandi Swedish Dishcloths
We made the swap from disposable paper towels to a reusable Swedish dishcloth for many reasons. Here are some of them.
Durable and Absorbent
Do you know that Superscandi can absorb up to 20 times its weight! One of the key benefits of Swedish dishcloths is their absorbency. These clothes can quickly soak up spills and messes, making them perfect for use in the kitchen and around the house. They are also very effective at removing dried-on food and grime from surfaces, thanks to their slightly abrasive texture.
Can be Washed Up to 200 Times!
When it is time to clean your Swedish dishcloth, toss it in the washing machine. These towels are built to last. They can be washed up to 200 times, giving you months of use from each purchase. One dishcloth is equivalent to 15 rolls of paper towels, making it an excellent investment for anyone looking to reduce their reliance on single-use products.
Made from Natural Materials
These reusable cloths are made from natural materials like cellulose, wood pulp (70%), and cotton (30%). They are a great alternative to disposable paper towels. Apart from that, their packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard and/or cornstarch-based wrapping.
Fully Compostable
When they are no longer usable, they can be composted and broken down within 8-12 weeks, returning to the earth as nutrient-rich compost instead of ending up in landfills.
Quick Drying
Superscandi clothes are designed to dry quickly, so you won’t have to deal with the unpleasant odours that can come with using regular dishcloths. They can be rinsed under warm water and wrung out. They dry quickly and are ready to be used again in no time.
Review After One Month
After using a Swedish dishcloth for a month and washing it a few times, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the cloth was still in perfect condition.

Why We Stopped Using Plastic Sponges
There are several reasons why we use compostable sponges and stopped using plastic sponges and why you should consider making a swap to a more sustainable and natural alternative:
- Environmental Impact: Plastic sponges contribute to plastic pollution and take hundreds of years to break down. When plastic sponges disintegrate, they create microplastics that are too small to be filtered out and end up in our water cycle. Unfortunately, microplastics are even detected in our drinking water.
- Shorter Lifespan: Our experience shows plastic sponges have a limited lifespan compared to compostable sponges. Plastic sponges disintegrate quickly and must be replaced more frequently, leading to more plastic waste.
- Contain Harmful Chemicals: Plastic sponges are often treated with harmful chemicals that can leach into food and water.
